Lightbox Photo Gallery
Photo gallery have historically been implemented with thumbnails that either link directly to full size photo or open a pop-up window containting the large image. These techniques disrupt the user experience and the branding of a website.
A newer technique for displaying photo galleries is to use a JavaScript lightbox. This method allows the main website to be grayed out while full-sized photographs are displayed in the same browser window. The website branding is maintained and the users are able to navigate through a gallery without opening and closing multiple windows. The JavaScript lightbox is a great way to provide a user friendly photo gallery.
